A Successful Business Structure Through the Creation of an Organizing Board

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Many entrepreneurs start a business without any knowledge of the organizational structure of a healthy business! This is one of the major reasons almost 80% of businesses fail within the first four years.

No matter how big or small a business, a basic organizational structure has to be in place to give the business direction. The founder of an organization or the person in charge has to structure his or her business in a way so that it can function smoothly and flawlessly. The first step to ensuring this state is creating a basic organizing board that clearly states the functions of each section, department, and the people who run it. This means that there has to be a comprehensive command channel for each executive, manager and employee to follow, thus ensuring sanity and smooth operational flow between each terminal. By terminal is meant any post or posts a person is holding.

The best way to accomplish this task is to have a visible and easy to follow flow chart in between sections, departments and terminals that are paid to fulfill their responsibilities. It is important that the name and post of each staff member is clearly and appropriately indicated on this chart.

Terminals are not to cross over one another in a nonsensical manner! Another words the communication between each terminal has to be conducted in an orderly manner, usually from top to bottom or bottom to top without crossing over to different departments or posts if those departments or posts are not within the command channel. The best way for different departments to communicate to each other is by department heads or if communication has to take place between departments on a lower level in the chain of command it has to be with the consent of the managers or department heads so there is no unintentional miscommunication and disruption in the flow of the operation. This is not to create a dictatorship, but to create a sane environment where particles and communications can flow flawlessly without any confusion.

To further accomplish this ideal scene, it would be best to divide the business into two major divisions, the division of communication and the division of organization. The division of communication would consist of executives, communications and dissemination and the division of organization would consist of income and disbursement, production and quality control and department of image and public information.

Obviously, the functions of each department within each division has to be broken down properly and hatting for each post has to be provided through thorough training and gained experience. This system brings about stability for the business and good morale for the staff as long as they are recognized.

Remember, even if you do not know all the details and proper functionality of each section of your business correctly, by preparing a basic organizing board in the above format you will provide a road map to gradually fill in the details and assign posts correctly and train each employee accordingly to perform his or her responsibility in an orderly fashion. 4 Components of Success

Friday, January 1st, 2010

Many people relate wealth only to money. Well, money is certainly a part of wealth, but it is only a part. True wealth consists of 4 components:

  1. To be a happy and healthy individual
  2. To have a happy and healthy family
  3. To flourish and prosper in your business, work or group
  4. To positively contribute to the society or mankind

If you have all of these components in place perfectly, well then guess what, you are a blessed man or woman!

Firstly, because if you as an individual are not happy and healthy, you can not function optimally. If you are not in shape or you don’t feel good, that means you can not tap in to your imagination and come up with constructive ideas to move you forward in life, thus you can’t achieve your goals. So, it is imperative to feel good. Do everything you can to feel good, listen to uplifting music, watch funny or inspirational movies, hang out with people that make you feel good, etc.

Secondly, if your family is not happy and healthy or if you don’t get along with any of the members of your family, specially your spouse, then that can also play against you and your well being. So, make sure your family feels good or at least you are in harmony with them and support them. The support of your immediate family is vital to your happiness. If you are married or you have a close companion you better do everything to stay in good terms with him or her and have their support in your goals in life. Bringing up healthy and happy children is equally important.

Once you have taken care of the first two components, then you can focus on the third component which is your business or your work. Being able to focus on your goals in your business or work and direct your mind towards achieving them brings you one step closer to success.

However, in order to succeed in life, you need to make sure you put your attention on serving your fellow man, and giving whole heartedly is the way to start. Volunteering to help others from every walk of life and contributing to improvement of life on this planet brings abundance and prosperity into your life.

When you know you have all the above components in place, then you know you are in the process of becoming wealthy, if not already there.

The Test of Giving – How To Find Out If You Are Generous!

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

The way you give reveals whether you’re just doing it because you’re hoping to get something back from the universe or you’re giving because you really and genuinely want to help others. That is the test that you need to pass to show the universe whether you’re a generous person or not!

Even though, I tend to give regularly, specially to the needy, I recently found out that I wasn’t as generous as I thought I was! An 8 or 9 year old boy came to my door one evening when it was dark outside. I was surprised that a little kid was knocking on my door all by himself when it was dark outside. First thing that came to my mind was, what in the world a little kid doing at this time, all by himself knocking on peoples doors?! I became concerned about his safety, even though our neighborhood is considered pretty safe. I know if he was seen alone by a policeman he would be picked up. However, I listened to what he had to say. He gave his speech so fast, I didn’t understand half of the things he was saying!

Yes, of course he wanted money and he had a box full of candy to sell. I don’t know what came over me, I regret to say that for some odd reason I did not give him money or purchased from him. It was unlike me! When I reflected back on what I did, I thought maybe I was caught by surprise and that was the reason for my inconsiderate behavior. But the truth of the matter is I need to work on my generosity!
